Position Summary

The Membership Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the growth and retention of Chamber membership. This position serves as the first point of contact for members and the public, ensuring a welcoming and professional experience. The Coordinator manages member onboarding and engagement, maintains accurate records, supports committees and volunteers, and assists with events and communications. By delivering excellent service and consistent follow-up, the Membership Coordinator strengthens member relationships and contributes to the Chamber’s mission of building a thriving business community.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Sales and/or business development experience preferred.
  • Volunteer management experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing needs, and work independently.
  • Professional demeanor, with courtesy and diplomacy in all interactions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Microsoft Teams), Canva, social media platforms, and customer/membership databases.

Position Type

Full-Time (Monday–Thursday, 9:00 am–5:00 pm; Friday, 9:00 am–3:00 pm).
Evening events as needed with flex time allotted.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Member Services & Engagement

  • Serve as the first point of contact for members, prospective members, and the public via phone, email, and walk-ins.
  • Process new member applications, onboard members, and ensure benefits are communicated and utilized.
  • Promote member recruitment through outreach and networking.
  • Support member retention through proactive outreach to at-risk members.
  • Maintain accurate member information in Personify (membership database) and other systems.
  • Coordinate ribbon cuttings, milestone celebrations, and member recognition.
  • Support Ambassador, Welcome, and Membership Committees with communications, meetings, and volunteer coordination.

Finance & Administration

  • Process membership payments and deposits; support monthly billing and renewal communications.
  • Provide administrative support across departments as needed and serve as back-up to Finance & Operations.

Office & Operations Support

  • Maintain office calendar, supplies, and daily operations.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail, event materials, and general office needs.
  • Support interns and staff with projects and event preparation.

Position Details

  • Full-time: Monday–Thursday, 9:00 am–5:00 pm; Friday, 9:00 am–3:00 pm.
  • Evening events, as needed (flex time provided).
  • Reports to Vice President of Operations & Membership.
  • Salary range: $40,000 - $50,000, based upon experience and qualifications, with additional bonus structure.
